Summer Learning Academy
YMCA Summer Learning Academies are designed to give students the opportunity to stay on grade level and prevent summer learning loss. Summer learning loss can negatively impact students and cause them to struggle when they return to school in the fall. Summer Learning Academies help students build confidence and positive relationships. Students have the opportunity to learn and have fun through hands-on activities, experiments, swimming, field trips, and more.
SLAs are five (5) week programs for students entering grades 1 through 5.

Irving ISD - Townsell Elementary
Irving ISD Summer Learning Academy Location: Townsell Elementary | 3700 Pleasant Run Rd, Irving, TX 75038
Irving ISD Summer Learning Academy Dates: We will operate weekly Monday through Friday from 6/1/2026 to 7/2/2026.
Summer Learning Academy will be closed Friday, 7/3/2026.
Hours of Operation: 8:00am to 4:00pm
Breakfast, one healthy snack and lunch are provided for our program participants at no additional cost. Please refer to our weekly menu for what is being served. Please note that we do not allow any foods that contain or that are processed in plants with tree or peanuts at any of our Summer Learning Academy sites.
